Answered: Over half of TikTok videos under #mentalhealthtips contain misleading or false advice.

The information from the People Magazine article claims that half of TikTok's Health video contains misimformation. People Magazine is an American magazine that focuses on pop culture events and entertainment news. People Magazine isn't an academic or scientific source. The author of the article is Cara Lynn Shultz, who is a People Magazine writer, editor, and pop culture specialist, but doesn't have expertise in mental health or conduct any research. Shultz mostly reports on issues, rather than conducting research.

People magazine claims that TikTok videos regarding mental health can be inaccurate, which could be potentially harmful because of the inaccuracies in the information in the videos. The claim is true, but the article is slightly misleading. The evidence of the article is from The Guardian, which is a British news outlet. "The outlet explains it came to this conclusion by taking the top 100 videos under that hashtag and sharing them with academic experts and mental health professionals for review." The article only looked at 100 popular videos on TikTok, which is a very small sample compared to the large platform that TikTok is, where thousands of people post videos.

The links referenced in the article are from The Guardian, theguardien.com/society/2025/may/31/more-than-half-of-top-100-mental-health-tiktoks-contain-misinformation-study finds, which is what the article is around. The National Library of Medicine agreed with the overall information from the article, but more research needs to be conducted to see the amount of misinformation about mental health on TikTok. When conducting research, a limitation was that sample sizes were small, which could cause inaccuracies. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9164092/#sec11. In another article by Healthline, they agreed with the information that reported: "52% of the top-performing ADHD videos and 41% of autism-related videos on TikTok contained information that was inaccurate or not supported by current clinical evidence." The article was fact-checked by a mental health specialist, giving more credibility to the claim of the misinformation from mental health videos on TikTok. https://www.heathliee.com/health-news/adhd-autsim-videos-tiktok-inaccurate. Overall, the claim is true, but some of the evidence and research are limited due to small sample sizes, and it doesn't show the whole picture about the misinformation that half of TikToks spreads.

Answered: Climate change is a global emergency. Acting swiftly mitigates its hazards and saves the future. Unite for our planet,

I think your claim is strong, but it mixes facts with opinion. For example, there’s solid evidence from groups like the UN and IPCC that climate change is serious and urgent, and that acting quickly can reduce damage. But phrases like “global emergency” and “unite for our planet” are more persuasive than factual. For instance, organizations like the United Nations Environment Programme state that “the world is in a state of climate emergency,” and warn that climate change is already causing extreme weather events like heatwaves, floods, and wildfires. You could improve your argument by separating what is scientifically supported from what is more opinion-based language.

Answered: Ice is continuing to racially profile and refuse to unrelease anyone

Based on the NILC article, the overall finding is that ICE has significantly expanded detention practices in ways that sharply limit release options and deviate from long-standing enforcement norms. The article explains that ICE is increasingly detaining people without offering bond, even when immigration law allows for individualized custody determinations. It also documents the rollback of prior enforcement guidelines that had protected pregnant people, primary caregivers, and long-term community members, replacing them with blanket detention policies. According to NILC, ICE has centralized parole decisions at headquarters, effectively stripping local officers of discretion and making release extremely rare, even for people who are legally eligible. Overall, the evidence suggests a shift from case-by-case enforcement toward near-automatic detention, raising serious legal and humanitarian concerns.

The primary sources cited in the article include ICE policy memoranda and internal guidance obtained through litigation and advocacy, which show that ICE instructed officers to deny bond and parole broadly and to detain nearly all noncitizens who entered without inspection, regardless of length of residence or family ties (summarized in the NILC article: https://www.nilc.org/articles/ice-is-detaining-indiscriminately-and-releasing-almost-no-one/). These documents reveal that parole authority was moved from field offices to ICE headquarters, confirming claims that local officers can no longer authorize release. The article itself serves as a secondary source, produced by the National Immigration Law Center, an immigrant-rights advocacy organization that may have an interest in highlighting harms caused by enforcement practices. However, the claim is strongly supported by the primary ICE policy documents NILC references and by immigration law, which generally requires individualized custody determinations and allows bond for many noncitizens. Little evidence in the article undermines the claim, aside from ICE’s implied justification that stricter detention promotes enforcement efficiency. Attempts to contact ICE or DHS, as reported by NILC, resulted in no substantive response beyond general statements defending enforcement authority, with no direct rebuttal of the specific allegations about bond denial, parole restrictions, or the abandonment of protections for pregnant people and caregivers.

Answered: The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be the largest held to date with 48 competing teams

This claim is true. There's not much to it other then the fact that it is a fact that this will be the first time a world cup has 48 teams competing. 48 being the largest ever. You can find this in the first sentence of the source cited. This was not a hard claim to really break down as there is no controversy to it. It's just the truth.

Answered: Major news articles are using AI

After researching this claim, I found that it is misleading. There is evidence that AI-generated content has increased online, especially on smaller or lesser-known websites. However, there is not strong evidence showing that major, well-established news organizations are secretly publishing large amounts of AI-written articles without disclosure. The claim mixes real concerns about AI in journalism with assumptions that are not fully supported by available research.

This study examined the rise of AI-generated news articles and found a noticeable increase between 2022 and 2023, particularly on smaller and lower-credibility sites. It did not conclude that major mainstream outlets were heavily relying on AI-generated articles without disclosure. https://arxiv.org/abs/2305.09820

The Associated Press has publicly discussed its policies around AI, explaining that AI tools may be used for specific tasks but that editorial standards and transparency are maintained. This shows that major outlets are not secretly publishing AI-written articles without oversight. https://apnews.com/hub/artificial-intelligence

Researchers studying AI-generated content are interested in identifying risks to information quality, which may emphasize growth trends. Social media users spreading these claims may be influenced by fear about AI replacing journalists. At the same time, major news organizations have incentives to protect their credibility, which explains why they are cautious about how AI is used and disclosed.

There is evidence that AI-generated articles exist online and that some websites publish generic news content without clear authorship or transparency. Smaller sites, in particular, appear to rely more heavily on automated or synthetic content.

Research shows that most AI-generated news content appears on smaller or lower-credibility sites, not major news outlets. There is limited evidence that mainstream organizations are secretly publishing large volumes of unlabeled AI-written articles. The claim exaggerates the scale and scope of AI use by major outlets.

This claim appears to be based on general social media discussion rather than a specific individual or organization, so there was no clear original source to contact.

Answered: A viral video of schoolchildren chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ in a classroom is real

Looking into the article it's a fake video. Not able to upload the original post here, but on the original post it also misspells "Allahu Akbar" which would signify an AI generated post based on human input error.

No one has found a credible source to back this proclaimed video as real. The school did also come out with a statement saying that it was false.

Meta may have violated EU law by making it too hard for users to report illegal content.

In October 2025 the European Commission announced preliminary findings that Meta had breached the EU’s Digital Services Act by providing “dark patterns” (designs that discourage reporting) for user complaints about illegal content, meaning users found it too difficult to report child sexual abuse, terrorist content, and other illegal material on Facebook/Instagram. (theguardian.com) For female college users who may use social-media extensively and may care about online safety and rights, this claim highlights that major platforms are under scrutiny for how well they protect users and how accessible their complaint systems are. The claim is supported by official findings; the nuance: the case is still ongoing (preliminary), and the violation is about process (“making difficult”) not necessarily a quantified failure rate. But it’s a valid claim: Meta is found in breach of EU law on user-rights grounds.

Answered: Instagram fact-checks all political posts automatically

Instagram doesn’t automatically fact-check political posts. At least, not in the way many people think. The platform used to rely on third party fact checking partners to review and label misleading content, but political posts (especially from politicians) were often exempt from that system. Instead of removing flagged content, Instagram typically reduced how widely it was shown.

In early 2025, Meta began phasing out its third-party fact-checking program in the U.S., replacing it with a “Community Notes” system that relies on users to add context rather than official fact checkers. While Instagram still tries to limit misinformation, it doesn’t automatically review or label all political posts.

Answered: Sean "Diddy" Combs has been sentenced to 4 years and 2 months in Federal Prison.

He was sentenced to 50 months in prison and fined $500,000, with his lawyers intending to appeal his conviction. Diddy was convicted of two counts of transportation for prostitution, while avoiding time for the biggest charges of racketeering and sex trafficking that were both dropped. Transportation for purposes of prostitution carries a maximum sentence of 10 years, with Diddy being convicted of 2 counts, there was a possibility of him serving 20 years. According to the BBC, prosecutors asked for a minimum of 11 years, but had to settle for 4 years and 2 months (50 months).

Sean "Diddy" Combs' lawyers stated that the prosecutors' attempt to sentence Diddy to a minimum of 11 years in prison would be a dramatic overreach and immediately asked for him to be released from federal detention until his sentencing hearing, suggesting a $1 million bail. However, a judge denied the request and said a significant sentence was required to send a message and act as a deterrent.

Sources:

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0qz32wzeego

This article delves deeper into the other charges and lawsuits Diddy faced, explains what a racketeering charge is, and why it is significant that he wasn't convicted of it. It gives accounts of Cassie Ventura and his other exs' claims of abuse and their testimony while also highlighting the Mann Act, a US federal law that was passed specifically in order to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/sean-diddy-combs-faces-strict-conditions-50-month-prison-sentence-rcna237818

This source gives more context on the case while also showing some of the court drawings and interviews NBC has done during the trial. It also details the extent of Diddy's probation which states that Combs’ probation officer can visit unannounced anytime, and he must live at an approved location. He must submit to searches of himself, property, residence, vehicle, papers, computers, and cellphones if there’s reasonable suspicion of a violation. He is not allowed to own, possess, or access firearms, ammunition, destructive devices, or any dangerous weapons. After searching the internet, there is no clear evidence that Trump dislikes singer-songwriter Charli XCX. All that can be found is a tweet from Charli stating “Kamala is brat” in reference to her new album brat. Charli later clarified this tweet, stating that she was not aspiring to be a political artist, but noted she was happy to help prevent democracy from failing forever. Some interpreted this clarification as a political lean, but still no direct contact between Charli and Trump.

I have found some that both supports and doesn't support evidence of the judicial system being overly harsh towards divorced men. This study shows that after most divorces, men experience a 10% increase in income while women experience a 27% decrease, citing many factors such as a more restricted earning capacity coupled with a disproportionate loss of income. However, it is also shown that women's satisfaction with household income is about the same level as a man's not long after a divorce. Many studies of European countries show that men are more likely to keep their home ownership than women after divorce. When it comes to well-being and health, it has been shown that men tend to suffer a higher mortality rate and a lower life satisfaction than women. it also indicates that women are more likely to file for divorce first. It is also shown that mothers are given custody over children more often, with many sources stating that they are seen as the "primary caregiver". However, many mothers who become single parents have to face the challenge of solo parenting and finding childcare.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5992251/

In the end, the evidence that I have found does not fully support the case that divorced men are treated more harshly by judicial systems, but rather there are many complex variables and many different ways in which both partners suffer during and after divorce.

To confirm without subjectivity, comments must be tested empirically, or at least be backed by empirical evidence. In comparison, the musical’s profit reportedly surpassed $1 billion in 2016. It is also important to note that the musical had a 22 year head-start — at this rate, it is safe to say that the movie’s profits will surpass the musical’s.
Oregon removed voters off of ballots over lack of citizenship

Oregon officials found over 300 voters, registered this month, that didn't have proof of citizenship. Due to a mix of laws being enacted that allowed "residents who aren't citizens to obtain driver's license", and "Motor Voter" law, which took effect in 2016, automatically registers most people to vote when they seek a new license or ID". This caused there to be a total of 1,561. "Thanks to the swift action of elections officials, I have full confidence that these new errors will not impact the 2024 election," Griffin-Valade said. However, other states have been finding lots of inelegiable names registered to vote. This is alarming especially in lue of the 2024 election in november.

"Texas Gov.
