BBC news talks about how false claims that the war is a hoax are going viral, and specifically videos of "crisis actors" are going viral where a young man and woman are having fake blood applied to their faces. Many people believe that this is evidence that people are being hired to fake scenes of an attack. This false claim was shut down after it was revealed that the video was shot in 2020 on the production set of Ukrainian TV series Contamin. Many other pieces of misinformation are being spread online, such as videos of "moving corpses", and "wooden guns", but none of these claims are true and are either spread by conspiracy groups or are just misunderstood.

Due to some people faking being injured in a war does not mean the whole war isn't happening. A lot of false media has been spread regarding the war, but sites like BBC are supplying accurate information.

According to very trusted sources, there is a war going on between Ukraine and Russia. Right of the bat with a simple search, there can be seen multiple sources showing territorial gains by Russia in the war. On the Instutite for the study of war and AEI's Critical Threats Project, they show a clear map that Russia has taken territory and it is backed by multiple different sources. According to Statistica, there were millions of online articles on the Ukraine war since its start in 2022. If there are so many different data points about the war, it can be debated what is the right news, but to say there's no war is a made up falicy. Lastly, according to CBS News and BBC News, two generally trusted news sites, almost 500,000 Russian soldiers have died in the Ukraine War. These numbers show there is an active invasion of Ukraine and that Russia is paying a toll in casualties. With all the footage and media stories about the war in Ukraine, without falling into conspiracy theories it is evident that their is a war going on in Ukraine, hence this claim is false.
